Fighting our own battles

It's a cool, overcast Labor Day, and I'm laboring over a response to Peter Gregory's latest post about Chancellor Walter V. Wendler's goals for SIUC.

Apparently, the list I posted of "SIUC Management Initiatives hasn't changed his mind -- he's still all over Wendler's case for mismanagement. I don't know what to think, except that Peter may lack important facts (I know I do!). To his credit, PG has discovered another Wendler initiative he approves of, although he thinks it was mismanaged. Peter knows a lot about management, since he plans and runs technology-based businesses for a living. While Walter runs a university.

And what do I do for a living? Promote and sell art by local artists; drive a limo once in a while; and make informational web sites and blogs. So Peter's demand for results inspired me to add more photos and RSS news feeds to the Shawnee Net home page, including SIUC News and Saluki Sports.

But being 'a gentleman and blogger' also allows me to explore whatever I choose without the "dollars and cents" concerns of those two guys. So I'll let the Chancellor fight his own battles, and Peter his, as I join the battle for truth in another arena: 9/11 Blogger, where the official version of the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001 is under attack.
