market for marketing
Now that this blog's link problem is solved with the help of Lynx, all of the other blogs I'm responsible for, one way or the other can receive more attention. Among those that require maintainance, the On the Square Online blog is #1 -- since I work on The Square, and know the business owners there.
Speaking of business owners, have you heard who will be occupying the current location of the soon-to-move Neighborhood Coop? A marketing & graphics business, is what I hear. That's marketing, not market, unfortunately -- since the Coop holds the lease, and wants no added competition for business when it moves to its new location in the Murdale Shopping Center. Too bad, because the foot traffic generated by the Neighborhood Coop is inestimable, but who knows? -- maybe the marketing firm can sell snacks and fruit juice in its lobby, or Roby Newman at New Chillan's will start to sell groceries. Don't be surprised. Rob is ambitious, as his new venture in Murphysboro proves.
Today I had a stimulating conservation with one of C'dale's old school movers and shakers, in a sunny table in Booby's Beer Garden. The question of what will become of the old Tuscan Lodge building came up. It may have been the Sam Adams talking but the idea for a hip-hop concert to raise money for the Lodge came up, so . . . stay tuned. The concert would be at the Town Square Pavillion. Or in the parking lot. Maybe some top acts would donate their time. Mr. Leftover and I agree that Hip-Hop has Hope!
Another color code I have with Lynx is this: words or phrases in goldenrod means that it will link (eventually) to a photo of that person, place or thing.
This blog is becoming more colorful lately, and speaking of colorful . . . have you seen the poster art of Robert Hunter? -- recently uploaded to the Art Lovers web site. Each poster is hand painted. No prints. Priced to sell. Be the first one on your block to buy one online. If you do, the artist will personally deliver it to your house, if you want (if you live in, or around, "The 'Dale").

Only about 3 of the items in the posting currently have links attatched to them. All the others are just pretty colored text.
yes, i see what you mean, so I've added a couple more myself . . . but the goldenrod links will be photos eventually. . . . working on a system with Lynx, who is being paid to add links to the maroon-colored text asap. Thanks for noticing and commenting.
