From birthday to Bike Day

Well, Bloggy, I survived another birthday without too many age jokes, and look forward to many more -- at least until the so-called "War on Terror" is over . . . and the truth about 'Shakespeare' is revealed . . . and the Carbondale, Illinois Amtrak station is moved back to Town Square (or across the tracks to Washington St.) -- in other words a very long time.

But City Council member Sheila Simon isn't waiting long to announce her plans to run for mayor. According to an article in The Southern, tomorrow morning the banjo playin' professor at the School of Law with the legendary political name will announce her intentions. -- on May Day -- VERY early (nearly a year before) in the election process. What's the message there?

If she does run, it will definitely delay the publication of my 'blook' until AFTER the election. . . . which wouldn't be a bad thing: I can use the extra time to investigate an alternative to the cumbersome TK3 book publishing software, and give attention to another pet project, and develop the Heartland Artland ebay store.

Oh yes, and finish writing the Varsity Theater chapter one of the blook's editors asked see a few weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Bike 2 Work Day is turning into a "Town Square" event, with all the restaurants around 'the square' providing food for hungry 'cyclists. (Your chance to try the Newell House bruschetta, Bloggy . . . just ride your bike to the Town Square Pavilion on May 12.)
