Music man
Last night's show at Art Lovers Trading Company featured the leather painting and crafting of songwriter Daniel Cooper from Nashville, Tennessee, whose web site shows photos of his work. But Daniel's true love these days is music, which he favored us with on CD, a tune called "Roaches, Keith Richards, and Me" performed by Rivers Rutherford in N'ville. Although catchy, for my money, the tune was not nearly as good as Cooper's Kokopelli pointings on leather. (My money, ha! Daniel also makes cell phone holders. I should ask him to paint a stick figure on one for me.)But my own career as a musician manque received a boost last night (that's monKAY, not MONkey, Bloggee), as I sat in on keyboard for saxy Shadi Frick, (that's SHAHdee, lady) who was taking a short break. Artist Najjar Abdul-Musawwir tossed a penny into the bowl in tribute to my bad fake playing-- after two glasses of Blue Sky Misterioso wine. ( 2-second video clip).
