KCB beautifies its site, others to follow

The winners of July's "Bright Spot Award" were announced last week: Rene Eberhard for her residence at 608 South Surrey. Her yard features very inviting landscaping that she did herself, and a friend made her a beautiful mosaic mailbox. Also, Kathie and Austin Rigney of 601 West Walnut were awarded a July Bright Spot. The Rigneys recently put a great deal of work into building up their front flower beds hauling some 5,200 pounds of soil to complete the job! The Business Bright Spot for July went to the new Panera Bread at 1126 East Walnut.

Meanwhile, a Bright Spot E-ward should go to Keep Carbondale Beautiful for its newly designed web site. It doesn't have up-to-date Bright Spot Awards (yet), but it looks great. This is in keeping with this blog's mission to have the every establishment and organization in the City of Carbondale represented on the world wide web with attractive and functional web sites, reflecting the uniqueness and style of each.

"World class" web presence for a "world class" community. By the end of 2005 "Carbondale to Cyberdale" could become more than just a slogan.
