The Daily Egyptian recently named a new managing editor: Eric Fidler. And if you don't know how to pronounce the name of the dean of the College of Communications and Media Arts, Manjunath Pendakur, or that of Walter Jaehnig, chairman of the School of Journalism, the SIUC News Service offers:

But is it FID-ler or FI-dler?

Either way, on August 9th, "Eric J. Fidler -- current editor of politics and elections in the Chicago bureau of The Associated Press -- will become the new faculty managing editor of Southern Illinois University Carbondale's award-winning, student newspaper"

This would be a good interview opportunity for the Carbondale Times or Muddy Media -- if the DE doesn't beat them to it.
