City wrestles issue, Writer wrestles language

Tim Donahue wants the City of Carbondale to regulate his small motorized scooter, as Nicole Sack reports in The Southern Illinoisan.

"While the motorized scooter mystery of whether these vehicles qualify as bicycles, mopeds or scooters is not common in Carbondale, other towns have dealth with this."

-- Herrin, Chicago and Cook County.

A few years ago, push-scooters were the craze in Carbondale, and there was talk of regulating them.

There's a citizens hearing planned for Tuesday. Tim Donahue will be there, maybe with examples from other college towns, such as Champaign.
