Steve Odum has been named interim Police Chief for the City of Carbondale. He will begin his new duties on November 14, 2003 when current Police Chief R.T. Finney leaves the department to assume the Police Chief position in Champaign. City Manager Jeff Doherty has set a goal of naming a new Carbondale Police Chief by mid-February 2004.

Plans to shoot a movie here in Karmadale about the conflict between meat-eaters and vegetarians on a college campus are blossoming. I. Yiyi, the high-powered university consultant, has helped out with some good recommendations, and the costume design position has been sewn up by Frank "Guy" Ward, who says he can deliver 1000 tails for the worship scene 8 weeks after the order is placed. Further afield, negotiations with the rugby representatives for filming are kicking into gear, with a music score by Bruce Camden. This will all become clear on the website eventually.
