Serendipity 2
In the Communications Building yesterday, dropping of the "official" Bike 2 Work Day Press Release (click to see the unofficial one) and had positive chance encounters with Chancellor Walter Wendler, Professor Jim Kelly and William Recktenwald, Journalist-in-Residence, who has a blog that looks identical to this one! Plus a former student of mine, Kris Maag Kranenburg, who is now an Assistant Professor in the School of Journalism. Meanwhile, DE reporter Nicole Sacks was very interested in Bike 2 Work Day and plans to send a reporter and photographer. One or two of these will be riding their bicycles to work on Wednesday, October 8. (Chancellor Wendler lives out by City Manager Doherty...Will the two of them ride their bicycles together east on Chataqua next Wednesday to work? Now that would make a great photo op.)
Have you ever tried the barbecue sold in the lobby of the Communications Bldg? It's the best I've had in recent memory. The smell permeates the building, which (imo) now replaces Morris Library as the best-smelling building on campus.
A few photos are (or will be) posted on the photos page.
Anyone for November Fest? Not so fast! There is still this weekend--and every other weekend of this month--to enjoy. See you at Arts in Celebration this weekend -- or at Longbranch Coffee House tomorrow night.
