V for Varsity
Many people are wondering what will become of the Varsity Theater after tomorrow night's final show. Although the company may not want it to be turned into an "art house" or "second run" theater, such a use would not compete with the Mall movies, because it's a different market altogether. Hopefully, the boys at Kerasotes Theaters in Springfield/Chicago will come to see it that way. What do you think? Would you be willing to be on a "Save the Varsity" task force? I'm not hard to contact. Here's a tricky trivia question for you: what will be the last movie shown? Answer: the last movie to start will be Identity (an ingenious thriller starring John Cusack and other good actors) at 9:40 p.m. But the last movie to end will be Bend it Like Beckham about 11:40 pm.
