Pols pity the poor immigrants


Legal immigrants are currently charged out-of-state tuition and fees at Illinois universities--even if they work and pay taxes within the state. House Bill 60 proposes to change that--by allowing immigrants working in Illinois to pay in-state tuition costs at universities, if the student has been in the basic education system.


The bill is backed by local State Rep. Mike Bost. Read more in the Southern Illinoisan. In a related story, Bost will no longer be getting free tickets to Saluki games.
